Hi, I’m Kat Bruce! I was born and raised on the east side of the city of steel. It shaped not only how I see the world, but how I see art. The graffiti wasn’t vandalism, it was a steganography. The street dancers weren’t soliciting they were creating community. The beatboxers were producers, rappers were writers, hustlers were entrepreneurs, and the community was family.

Sometimes the imagination strips you away from how you think the world around you sees you and reminds us what love truly looks like. Thats what I want to do with art.
